DisplayLink Does not Detect Displays (IOmega)
1 Attachment(s)
I used my display link when I first bought it, a few months ago, but then stopped using it. (I had to use my extra monitor for other things)
I'm trying to use it now, and it does not seem to work. I've upgraded to the new driver, but, my monitor does not come on. I'm attaching the output from the debug tool -- please help me! |
Any ideas? I've repaired permissions and re-installed the driver, but nothing :(

So, I bought the Kinsington Universal Multi-Display adapter, and tried it -- still no monitor detected.
It's supposed to support up to 2048x1152, so, my 1900x1200 should work fine, but it doesn't -- any ideas? I get this when I plug it in: Code:
USBF: 405.443 [0xc288e00] The IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device that has been plugged in. It will keep retrying. (Port 2 of Hub at 0x26000000) |
Could this be an incompatibility with my particular monitor? I'm using an Acer B243W.

I think I found it. When I connect the device, I see this in system.log:
Code:
Oct 14 16:41:15 daves-mbp detectpen[356]: PenDeviceAddedAny suggestions? |
So, after disabling that device, it seems more likely that the USB devices are enumerated, and, for some reason, display link never grabs the device.
I could really use some assistance. I now have two non-working display links. |
I noticed the same thing with mine: http://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=365 I don't get how to repair enumerated usb cables.

I have this same issue along with the ghosting. It'll display that same message in console when I plug in the device. In no way am I trying to hijack your thread (or implying thats what you think), i'm not sure if there is a correlation yet. Since tech help is trying to support us now, I thought it would be wise to relay that I have a issue such as yours (along with all the other crap I'm dealing with with this device). |
Ahhh -- I understand now -- yes, every bit helps . . . I hope someone from Display Link responds soon.
|
Any updates? Could someone please look at my diagnostics file?
