Not all resolutions are available

I'm using Lion 10.7.2 on a MacBook Pro 2011 and a WS-UG17D1 with 1.7b5. Although the adapter is said to support all resolutions up to 1080p (1920x1080), when an HDMI monitor is plugged into the UG17D1, only a couple resolutions are available (1280x720 is highest available). When I plug the same monitor into my Thunderbolt port via HDMI, ALL resolutions up to and including 1080p are available.

Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround? I would like to use my HDMI monitor at full resolution.

Thanks for your help.

Could you please use the tool here http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269 and post the output file? Thanks

The only resolutions available on my 1080p monitor are 1280x1024, 1024x768, and 800x600.

Thanks for looking into this, any help getting all display modes up to and including 1080p would be much appreciated.

Experiencing the Same issue

Hi, I have a Samsung SyncMaster P2250 with a max resolution of 1920x1080 but since upgrading to Lion and using the Beta build I can only get a max of 1680x1050, which means there are 2 blank sections on each side of the monitor. I have upgraded to the latest Beta and still experience the same issue.

Log files attached:

Thanks for your help

Thanks for the logs. The 1920x1080 is correctly reported in the EDID file, but somehow the driver doesn't list it between the available resolutions for the display, so we need to investigate a bit more.

Thanks for the logs. In your case the 1920x1080 resolution is correctly reported in the EDID file and it's also listed as available resolution by the driver. Unfortunately the driver discard it, because it's not listed as supported resolution by the device. We still need to understand why this happens.

While on the primary monitor (Thunderbolt) i have 1080P, on the one ViBook i just arrive to 1680x1050, and these two are the same monitor, Samsung SyncMaster EX2220.I just installed release 5. Attached the info you need. Let me know if you can fix this!

I am on an early 2008 MBP with NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT 256

I have adapter attached 10.7.2 installed and the latest beta driver and the only resolution option I get is 1200x800. This adapter says it supports up to 1920x1080. I have attached log file. Please assist.

Hi all, any news on this?

ChristianP 12-08-2011 09:00 AM

Sorry for the late answer. The 1920x1080 resolution is correctly read from your display EDID, but for some reasons it's not considered as a supported resolution by the driver. We will try to fix this issue.
