Display Link help for WIN 8

I am running Win8 Release Preview (Build 8400) on an ICONIA TAB W500 from ACER. I have tried both 6.2 and 6.3 versions of the displaylink driver, however, no picture output is shown.

The hardware I am using is the imation link USB transmitter. It works flawlessly on my Windows 7 machines; however, I cannot get an output it just shows the imation link splash screen when I plug in the dongle for Win8 release preview 8400.

This tablet has an AMD Vision GPU, driver version 2011.0524.2352.41027.

I have run the debug tool, however, i am not sure it is working correctly.

When I plug in my USB to VGA adapter, it only makes the connecting sound on my Windows 8 Laptop.

Does the device work on other O/S than Windows 8? Logs seem to indicate a problem with the USB connection, perhaps a low quality cable, or simply a broken device.

Wireless USB devices need an updated driver for the WUSB part, this is a separate driver from DisplayLink's - once it has support for Windows 8, the device will start working again. Please ask the manufacturer of the device for an updated driver.

Wow, thank you very much! My USB cable had indeed been defective. My monitor is working crisp and sharp now. Thanks a lot for your help!
