Windows 10 build 1607 driver crash
Hello,
I'm using a Plugable USB3-6950-DP adapter with 2 displays connected and I have the problem that the display link driver is crashing 1-2 times a day. Connecting the adapter directly or via the docking station makes no difference to the frequency of the problem. When the driver crashes both connected displays are freezing and two devices with a warning are shown in the device manager instead of the usual one. To re-enable the adapter, it is necessary to reboot the system, simply plugging it out and in again unfortunately doesn't resolve the problem. Edit: Sent download link for the logs via mail. thanks for your help in advance, |
Hi
I've looked at the logs. It sounds like the USB 3.0 host controller is locking up on your PC, which is why a replug is not fixing it. I suspect disabling and enabling the USB 3.0 controller in device manager would also recover it rather than a reboot. I see you are using Windows 10 RS1. There were some USB fixes in RS2 which could help with this. I would recommend updating to the latest Windows 10 version and see if this solves the issue. Wim |
