Nvidia 8600m GT and display link

Hello all,

I'm getting some horrible corruption on my display link screen. I have tried everything to fix it. I've downgraded my Nvidia drivers, and tried versions 5.2-5.6 of display link. I am getting a lot of scattered vertical lines across the monitor attached to my display link device. I have attached some example pictures. Please tell me you have seen this before and there is some type of fix.

I am running:
Windows 7 64bit
Nvidia 8600m GT (driver version: 258.96)
Kensington M01063(product#: K33928)

Hi n10city,

It looks like HW/FW issue. Please download the Windows DisplayLink debug tool from this website, then gather the system information and send the zip file to us for analysis. (delete memory.dmp file if the zip file is too large to upload)

Thanks

Hello Pawel,

I am 100% sure it's not a HW issue with the monitor because it works fine when connected to my PC directly.
I have used the support tool to make the report file. How exactly do I get it to you guys?

Also, will this be treated like a separate case and will someone send me a follow up when analysis is finished?

It will most likely be the HW issue with the Kensington adapter, not the monitor.
You should be able to attach the zip file with the log files to this forum thread. And yes, I will get back to you here once I analyse the logs.

Thanks

Hi n10city,

I'm sorry to confirm my first thought, but this is the adapter hardware issue and in this case, you should contact Kensington for a replacement.

Regards
