Use Case Question

I hope this is the right forum for my question.

I have a 2015 MacBook Pro. The display died, and I was wondering: after I install the DisplayLink driver with the help of an HDMI display, will the MBP pick a DisplayLink monitor (I'm eyeing an Asus mb169b+ monitor) from the start, without having to connect it to the HDMI monitor to be able to boot and login?

Any help/comment is appreciated.

For the curious, the fix for my MBP display is kind of expensive right now, and the Asus monitor could be used in several scenarios, including use with other PCs, so that's why I'm considering this as a temporary workaround.

I have done this with my MacBook Pro Late 2011, USB 3.0 UHD DisplayPort adapter and a conventional LCD panel. Obviously you can't see the boot process, since the DisplayLink doesn't start until the USB ports become active.

YMMV - Good luck
