MacOS 10.13.5, MB169B+ Behaves as if extended, but just mirrors
Hello,
This behaviour is one I have not been able to find elsewhere, and I thought I would report it. So I am using: MacBook Pro 13'' early 2015 MacOS 10.13.5 High Sierra ASUS MB169B+ DisplayLink driver v4.3 beta 5 The behaviour I see is that the external screen mirrors no matter what. If I uncheck mirroring, it says it is extended and I can arrange and scale the monitors etc... but the monitor of my laptop and the external just mirror each other. If I click the DisplayLink AirPlay option, I mirror the external monitor, if I do not, I mirror the laptop monitor. I am super confused! :D Thank you! A |
Did you ever get this figured out? I'm having the same issue.
EDIT: I hadn't granted DisplayLink permissions. That seems to fix all my issues (mirrored displays but no options in Displays). |
Me Too!
Did anyone figure this out? This is exactly what mine does.

Same behavior after installing "DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for OS X and macOS 4.3 Beta 5.dmg" on High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G65) Mac Pro 15" 2017 -- Radeon Pro 560 4096 MB/ Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB.
Also tried "ASUS_MB_series_driver_for_Mac_4.3_Beta_3.dmg" and I don't even anything to display on the monitor with that driver. |
You need to update the permissions for displaylink to run, then restart
