Slow performance

Hi

I am using this product: http://www.cablematters.com/pc-291-7...d-macbook.aspx

with my Mac Book Pro with OSX Lion 10.7.4 and a HPx2301 monitor. I am receiving extremely slow performance. Is there anyway to fix this?

Edit: i am using the latest driver as well.
