Gigabit Ethernet Port Not Working
1 Attachment(s)
Hello I have been having issues with the ethernet port working on my Targus USB 3.0 docking station (Model No.: ACP71AU). I plug it in, the connection lights on the port flash, it seems to be connected in network connections but I cannot get to web pages 99% of the time. Sometimes they will half load, but most of the time they will not load at all.
More details: - Pings work fine (URLs and IPs) - Same cable in other PCs (not using Targus Dock) works fine. - Other cables (using dock) do not work - WiFi works fine. - DisplayLink software installed correctly - DisplayLink service running - USB device appears in device manager - USB device booted correctly - Latest graphics driver installed - Latest USB 3.0 host controller driver installed System details: - Dell XPS13 L322X - Windoze 7 Professional SP1 64 bit Per other threads in this forum I tried uninstalling the displaylink software, updating windows, restarting and reinstalling the latest version of the displaylink software, but it did not fix the issue. I have attached the output from the Support Tool. Any help would be much appreciated! |
Hi,
Can you upgrade your USB 3.0 host controller driver to this one: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...?DwnldID=21129 Thanks, James |
Done. Same problem.

If it works on your home network and not on websites, then it could be the MTU settings. This article could help:

Same problem, even with latest drivers
I'm starting to think the NIC in the Targus docking stations are faulty. If I ping a server through the Targus Giga Ethernet, packets are randomly dropped. If I ping through another USB adapter, no packets are dropped. All the drivers and software are up-to-date, so that leaves the hardware as the likely problem. So sad. Never buying one of these again. DisplayLink should distance itself from Targus until they fix this.
