I would like to have a 2560x1080 resolution
 

Is there any switch, that I can tell the driver to use this resolution: 2560x1080? Or maybe to scale a minor resolution the right way? 21:9 maybe?

Have a look at RDM or SwitchResX both allow you to select from a much wider range of resolutions then OS X gives OOTB. RDM is free, SwitchResX is not but also allows you to define custom resolutions so you can in theory get exactly what you want.

This resolution is currently not supported in the driver, don't think there is an easy workaround.
I think we can try to squeeze this change in the next release but I'll need the monitor EDID.

The best way to get it is to connect the monitor to a DisplayLink device then send us the logs: http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...to-displaylink

Or just attach here the .edid file you can find in /Library/Application Support/DisplayLink

@Carlo that would be awesome. Here are the two edid-Files from both of the attached monitors, zipped.

BTW: SwitchResX doesn't allow even a lower scaled resolution for 21:9.

For your convenience I also attached the logs from your Information tool.

The monitor information says it's DVI. Given the resolution (the pixel clock is over 185MHz), it must be a dual-link DVI connection which is not supported by our products.
It should work with one of our USB-3 products with HDMI outputs. The good news is that it should work even without driver changes: with the monitor information we got from you the native resolution came up fine in OS X.

OK, I've ordered a 4k adapter and will report here.

4K adapter with DP or HDMI output?
With DP there is a risk that it still won't display because most DP to HDMI adapters (like the DP to HDMI cables) are passive and will use DP++ rather than the full DP output capabilities.

Thanks Carlo, I just got one of your USB 3.0 4K Ultra HD Display Adapters, connected via DP to DP Cable. Now I have two 21:9 Monitors (2560x1080) connected to my Macbook Air.
