2016 Macbook - MB168b+ not working?

I have a USB-C powered Macbook with a USB adapter. Have the most recent drivers downloaded for the MB168b+. It is not working. Yellow power button light is flashing on the monitor where it should be a white light.

Seems like it is not getting enough power?

Anyone have success running this monitor with the new Macbook?

Multiport Adapter and regular USB

I remember a while ago there was another discussion regarding the multiport adapter and its compatibility with regular USB A docks. Now that we'be had a little bit of time, it appears from this thread that the Multiport Adapter still does not properly work with regular USB docks.

Is there a timeline on resolving this? Not having USB capability through any sort of USB dongle is a killer for me, and others, I would assume. Granted, I know that there are plenty of USB C docks out there, but the scenario I am referring to is the following:

[Power, HDMI display 1, USB dock] connected to Multiport Adapter
[Ethernet, USB devices, HDMI/DVI/DP display 2] connected to USB dock above

Does that make sense? That is what I am hoping will work using the current hardware/driver combination.

My solution: Y-shape USB cable

I faced the exact same problem and solved the issue by connecting them by Y-shape cable supplying external electricity from another USB port to MB168+.

Addition: Y-cable

You can connect the extra USB port of the cable to ordinary AC-USB adapter, or even a USB battery to have extra power supply. It should be noted, once you have your MB168b+ functions, you can even disconnect the external power connection. It seems that the display needs more power than Macbook can supply, only when it is connected.
