Samsung U70 and Sun VirtualBox
Hi all,
I'm trying to get a Samsung U70 Display working with a Windows 7 installation running in Sun's Virtualbox on a CentOS Linux Host. The routing of the USB device between the CentOS Host and the VirtualBox instance seems to work fine since the Display is listed in the Windows device manager and declared to be functional. Unfortunately I'm unable to get the latest DisplayLink drivers up and running. I always getting the "your device is incompatible"-message at boot time. I already tried using Windows 7 in 32bit and 64bit versions. I'm unable to start the DisplayLinkUI binary. I only see the following messages in the debug DisplayLinkUI.log file: Code:
00:00:00.00 DisplayLinkUI 0012FCA0 ALWAYS Logger.cpp:888 Version 5.2.21746.0. Built by BLACKWOOD\buildmaster, at 11:42:12 Oct 20 2009. Started at Tue Feb 23 16:26:40 2010 Greetings, Markus |
I think the error message you are seeing is due to this:

Thanks for the hint. Seems like that VirtualBox currently doesn't provide any WDDM 1.1 drivers for Windows 7 guests that would also allow you to use Aero, etc. Those drivers are currently under development.
Are there any ways around this issue in the "DisplayLink-World" if there's no WDDM driver available? Greetings, Markus |
