Lagginess & Console Logs Show Spamming of Error

error 08:28:05.086117 -0500 WindowServer [ERROR] - Unable to find display pipe for IOFB service: 13079

I am getting, literally, thousands of these error messages spammed continually.

I'm using the Plugable USB-C Docking Station (not sure if 4K model or not). Running MacOS 10.14 and the latest DisplayLink driver.

Please assist in helping to resolve this issue. It is causing significant performance issues, especially when sharing my screen in a Webex.

Unable to find display pipe

Having the same issue - get same continuously logged errors with both v4.1 and 5.0.42 driver versions. WindowsServer process is sucking up mucho CPU cycles.

Same issue here with drivers 5.0.1 and 5.1 on macOS 10.14.3

Same here

Same here with driver version 5.1 and Mojave 10.14.3.

I also noticed a lot of flickering on my monitors (not on the Macbooks screen) since updating from 10.14.2 to 10.14.3. It feels like this only happens when I have Chrome browser opened but could not really verify if it does not happen without Chrome opened. However I can definitely reproduce the flickering when opening a website in Chrome with a lot of animated content like advertisements.

Same issue

Having the same problem with Mojave 10.14.3 and both driver version 5.0 and 5.1. Getting the log entry below roughly 100 times per second.

WindowServer: (CoreDisplay) [com.apple.CoreDisplay:default] [ERROR] - Unable to find display pipe for IOFB service: 12567

Add me to the me-too list

DisplayLink has always logged tons of display errors, but it would be nice to get rid of this one.

Same here. Getting ALOT of these:

Code:

Plus seeing high CPU usage.

I'm on a MacBook Pro 13" Early 2015 I5-5257U using ASUS MB16AC ZenScreen using USB 3.0 to USB C connection.

I've been seeing this on all the Mojave drivers.

Any suggestions?

Good lookin' out.

Similar behavior: Input lagging, but not with all applications

I can observe a similar behavior on my MacBook Pro 13 (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD) running Mojave 10.14.4. I use a Dell D6000 docking station and an HP E243i screen.
Interestingly, not all applications are lagging: While Firefox and Thunderbird are almost unusable (no change with Safe Mode or anew profile), this does not apply to using for instance Safari or even Microsoft Outlook. With Firefox, text input and Scrolling is delayed by more than 2 seconds.
The problem started once I updated to 5.1.1 while it worked flawlessly for the previous version (must have been a version which was the latest available around beginning of February 2019). Version 5.1 is affected as well though. Once the drivers are uninstalled, the problem disappears.

Another issue: with the latest version, my Dell U2715H screen cannot operate at full resolution (QuadHD) any more when connected to a Dell DA200.

Minor update: I reverted back to 5.0.1 and the issue has improved massively, even though the following messages persist:
