DisplayLink User Agent errors (numerous)
 

I was using the 1.5b5 driver but still have the same issue to a lesser extent with the 1.5b6 driver. Here's all the details:

MPB C2D 2.2 MHz, 4GB ram, OS 10.6.1. Displaylink Adapter is: IOGEAR GUC2020DW6 USB 2.0 External DVI Video Card

I access this machine remotely about 2/3rds of the time, so I need the "wake for network access" option turned on in the energy saver prefs. The problem is that after I put the computer to sleep, the new way things work in 10.6 is that it wakes up periodically to maintain the wake on demand features. When this happens I get a bunch of errors about "DisplayLinkUserAgent" saying something about "Sever did die - reconnecting". With the beta 5, I was getting probably hundreds of these errors each time it woke (whether it be an actual manual wake or just the maintenance for wake-on-demand) - see the first attached picture for the console messages. With beta 6, I get fewer errors (see second picture).

Turns out those pictures are too small to read the text. here's the text for the errors with the b6 driver:

The errors themselves don't bother me so much, but this appears to keep the machine from going back to sleep when it does the semi-wake up for wake-on-demand maintenance. So if I put the machine to sleep at 6pm, it wakes back up within about an hour and stays awake all night.

Any ideas on how to address this?
