DisplayLink monitor flashing when programs are launched
 

Whenever I launch certain programs/applications (i.e., Outlook, Power Manager, FactSet, etc...) and my DisplayLink monitor is set to "Extend" mode my screen starts flashing, my mouse will randomly go to the center of my primary monitor, and my computer becomes unresponsive for several minutes until the program/application completely loads (which takes much longer than normal).

However, when I start the same programs/applications when the DisplayLink monitor is in "Mirror" mode there are no known issues and everything functions normally.

Also, any Visual Basic progam window (from Outlook/Excel/PowerPoint) goes through a continual restore/maxmize loop while the screens are flashing.

Any information on how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
