problem installing drivers USB 2.0 VGA
 

Hello

I have bought this device to extend a monitor on my main pc. Unfortunatly I cant seem to get it to install.

The CD it came with contains an old version of the same driver found on this website (displaylink) but none of the 2 seem to have worked as i keep getting a message saying that the device i just pluged in is not rekigniced.

I tryed it on 1 pc and 2 plaptops with windows 8 on the pc and windows 7 on the laptops.

the instalation:
I make sure the device is not pluged in the usb port.
I run the installer
The installer seems to be installing everything but dissapears without showing any messages about being done
I restart the system and plugin the device

when I look in device manager the device shows as a unknown device
I tryed to add the displaylink driver manualy as it is installed but i got a huge list of display link drivers like this one "displayLink display adapter(105B)"
I tryed several of these but none seem to work.

If the device is not being recognised, then this is not a software issue. Windows cannot identify the USB device connected to the bus.
