Displaylink w/Mac Mini 2011, 3 monitors
 

I would like to run the following - dual 24" monitors plus a Thunderbolt to SDI video monitor (for an edit bay setup);

Mac Mini 2011 AMD 6630M running Mac OS X Lion and Avid Symphony 6

- 2 x 24" (1920x1200) LCD monitors -> one using HDMI out, the other on Displaylink
- the Thunderbolt/mini DP port is being used by a Blackmagic Design Thunderbolt to SDI device.

Does anyone have any idea whether the Displaylink portion of this setup will work satisfactorily?

That's basically my configuration, although I have a 2009 Mini. As long as you're not running Mountain Lion, it should work fine.

Can't speak to the Thunderbolt->SDI config, but the DisplayLink part will work.

I find it is hard to get the display back up from deep sleep.. I think the less hassle way is to get a thunderbolt hub.
