All Display Freezing When DL Monitor Connected After September Patch Tuesday
 
Hello,

I have a Toshiba USB monitor that uses DisplayLink and I use it every day whether I'm in my home office or on site with a customer. I extend my display onto the USB monitor.

Starting yesterday (after patching my machine for patch Tuesday) I am now unable to use my monitor. When it is connected it may or may not work for a couple of minutes before the display on the USB monitor freezes, the display on my main monitor goes black, and I have to do a hard power reset on the laptop in order to boot again.

I have updated to the most recent version of the DisplayLink driver (That supports 8.1, even though I'm only running Windows 8) and am still experiencing this.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm happy to give debug information to support if requested to help identify the root cause of the issue.

Looking forward to being able to be multi-mon.

Hi,

As soon as the issue is seen please attach the output of this tool:
http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269
Once downloaded, please run it and select "Gather Support Information"

It's also worth trying the "System Compatibility Check" to see if anything is flagged up.
