Dell XPS 12 and D3000 Docking Station
All,
I have a Dell XPS 12 with Windows 8.1 and a Dell D3000 docking station. Normally, it works fine. However, when I disconnect the docking station and reconnect it, Windows finds all new devices and attempts to install the drivers once again. However, it errors out and nothing works. I then proceed to remove every one of those devices with warnings on them and the docking station proceeds to work. I have to go through this every morning and every time I boot up/plug in to the dock. Is there a known issue with the drivers for Windows 8.1 or does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks! |
Hi,
Can you attach the logs from this tool: http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269 Please be sure to enable "Advanced Logging". Thanks, James |
Same Combination but Different Problem
I also have a Dell XPS12 and a D3000. I am running Windows 8.1 (64-bit).
The D3000 has a link light and blinking traffic indicator when plugged into a known-good network port but the laptop seems unaware that the NIC exists. I downloaded the latest DisplayLink driver for the D3000 from the Dell website to no avail. Suggestions? Brian |
Hi,
This sounds like the Ethernet drivers aren't installed. In Device Manager is there a yellow exclamation mark under "Network adapters"? If so please follow these steps: Right click on device in device manager Select Driver Select Update Driver Select Browse my computer for driver software Select Browse Enter C:\Program Files\DisplayLink Core Software\ Check Include subfolders Select Next Thanks, James |
