Surface Pro 2 Problem with Monitor

1 Attachment(s)
I just got a surface pro 2. I have installed the latest drivers from display link and yet every time I connect the monitor directly on the USB port it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting before the monitor even really had a chance to boot up.

I have tried different cables but still have the same issues.

Have you tried via a USB 2.0 cable? (as opposed to USB 3.0)

Hi,

This should be fixed in v7.5 available here:

Thanks,
James

Still not working

Updated to 7.5 and still get the same behavior. So I thought maybe if I used another machine it would update the firmware. So I updated another machine to 7.5 and the monitor comes up but if I move the mouse cursor to the displaylink monitor it disconnects and reconnects.

After trying that if I go back to the Surface I get a message that says "Your drivers are not compatible with your device. Go to the manufacturers support site or www.displaylink.com to get the latest drivers before you can use your device."

there is a workaround, just connect the monitor to a usb hub and the hub to the surface. also, I don't know why JamesH keeps saying that v7.5 fixes this, not only it doesn't, it's not even mentioned in the patch notes. JamesH, if you could get someone in the team to address this USB instability issue specifically it would be helpful.

I get the same behavior even when I go through a hub.

Hi,

At the time of writing I was told that 7.5 M0 fixed this issue.
Apologies that this wasn't the case.

A fix for this has gone into R7.4 M4 which is available here: http://www.displaylink.com/support/downloads.php

Thanks,
James
