BSOD On New Laptop
1 Attachment(s)
I've been using my DisplayLink for a couple of years with no problems, I just got an upgraded laptop and every time I install the DisplayLink drivers/software Windows blue screens on boot up.
I've tried a number of different versions of the software v6.4 which I used previously as well as 7.4 and 7.5 but all are giving the same problem. I did verify that I have the latest video card drivers as well. Any thoughts? |
Hi,
To help us investigate this issue can you follow these steps: 1. Disconnect the DisplayLink enabled device 2. Uninstall any DisplayLink software 3. Run this tool http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=297 4. Install v7.5 M0 5. Reconnect the DisplayLink enabled device 6. See if you get the issue again 7. Hi James,
I had the same problem. Here's the support file. Thanks Tom |
Hi,
Thanks, I've raised this internally. James |
Hi any progress on this? Is there something I can do to provide more information?
|
Hi,
Yes please - A full memory dump could help on this. To create one, the following command has to be executed in a command prompt window opened as Administrator: "reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\CrashControl /v CrashDumpEnabled /t REG_DWORD /d 1" Then a machine reboot will be required for the above to take effect. After you hit the BSOD again please upload the new logs. Thanks, James |
