OSX 10.10.2 Display link drivers not compatible with E1659Fwu
 

I get the above message when I attempt to plug my AOC E1659Fwu into my Macbook Air running 10.10.2. I've installed the 2.3 drivers.

When I first plug the monitor into the USB, I get a color cycle and then blank screen. Nothing shows up on the display control panel.

Suggestions?

Do you mean there is a dialog saying "OSX 10.10.2 Display link drivers not compatible with E1659Fwu"?
If that is the case, is there any hint about which software is showing the message?

The problem you describe looks more a power problem. You could check if the device is visible in the system profile in
Apple Menu -> System Report -> Hardware -> USB. If not then it's a device or power supply problem.
