Outlook 2016 Corruption
I have 2 Dell monitors (set at 1920x1080 using a DVI connector) attached to a Displaylink USB3.0 dock which is connected to a Lenovo X1 laptop.
After using Outlook 2016 for 15-30 minutes, the Outlook graphics becomes corrupt (nothing displays or partial). I need to close Outlook and then restart. The same issue appears again after 15-30 minutes of using Outlook. I have tried both a Lenovo and StarTech dock with the same issue. DisplayLink driver = 8.1.843 Intel HD 4400 = 20.19.15.4531 Windows 10 = Build 15002.1001 (this was also occurring with the earlier builds) Outlook 2016 = 16.0.6965.2117 |
If you disable hardware graphics acceleration in Office as described here -> https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2768648 does that help? (info about halfway down the page)

Yes ... I did disable hardware graphics acceleration and went through the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant for Office.
Same issue |
Hello,
This is a Windows Insiders build, I believe. We have noticed the issue we reported before seems worse on that build and 15007 as well. Microsoft is working on it. Kind regards, Alban |
Please can you link us to the issue reported before
Is there a link to the report from before?

Hello,
Microsoft bug tracking system does not have a public access. Visibility of reports is limited to Microsoft and the partner associated with the report. This means that even if DisplayLink reported the bug, should this be a bug with a graphics vendor, I will lose access to its status when it changes partner association. As far as I know and have been experiencing, there isn't a fixed OS available today. Kind regards, Alban |
Alban,
Do you know of any update to this issue? We are seeing this in our company with DisplayLink and Windows 10 1607. Thanks, PeterB |
Hello Peter,
We believe this has been fixed since Insiders builds of the Windows 10 Creators Update (1703). The fix was not backported (=serviced) to Windows 10 Anniversary Update (1607). They were complex changes which included risk, without any guarantee of result on Anniversary. Kind regards, Alban |
