Win10 - HP3005pr - won't drive Apple monitor
 

I bought the HP 3005pr device the other day to connect my Asus laptop to an Apple A1316 monitor, but i can't make it work. I'm using the usb3.0 out on the laptop to the port replicator then a display port adaptor to connect to the mini-display port of the Apple monitor.

The 2 are connected because I can hear the speakers, but no display comes up. Control panel cannot detect the 2nd monitor.

I have loaded the latest DisplayLink drivers I could find = 8.2.2139.0 & the laptop monitor driver is 10.0.15063.0

PS The display port & HDMI both work driving a TV via HDMI & the monitor was working last week connected to an HP laptop via display port & the same adaptor.

Any suggestions appreciated !

OK troops - problem solved by returning the HP & buying a StarTech hdmi-display port converter..
