DisplayLink saying no displaylink enabled monitor detected

I recently purchased the AOC I1601FWUX 15.6" USB-C which says it has DisplayLink in it. I downloaded the DisplayLink driver but when the monitor is plugged in it says that DisplayLink cannot detect any DisplayLink devices. Any ideas?
