Dell UD22 on MacBook M1

We all know that it is not possible to have an image on two screens on the M1 MacBook natively.

When I connect the Dell UD22 docking station to the MacBook, I have 2 mirrored screens. This shows that the equipment is working correctly, but it is not possible to configure it to have two different work screens.

MacOS is up to date (Sonoma 14.6.1), DisplayLink Manager is installed with the latest version (1.10.3) and in it I have the following message: No DisplayLink - Enabled display detected

Has anyone solved this same type of problem?

The UD22 combines two different technologies to drive the connected displays. The HDMI output and the USB-C output are driven by a DisplayPort Multi-Stream hub (aka DP MST). Macs do not support DP MST, which is why your displays are mirrored.

The two DisplayPort video outputs are driven by the DisplayLink chip within the dock. If you connect your displays to the DisplayPort video outputs that should allow them to work.

rboerner you are magic. thank you so much.

macbooks only work with the same video output technology

I have the same problem with M1 MacBook when connecting to docking station. Even though there are two screens, they only show the same, can not be configured to have two different screens working. I tried updating DisplayLink and checking settings but still not working.

Please see my reply earlier in this thread for an explanation of how the Dell UD22 dock works.
