Camera & Microphone not available when connected to display link
I have a Mac, operating on Sonoma 14.5 (23F79)
I also have an apple monitor, that until getting the display link hub, was connected directly to my laptop (the monitor has a built in camera and mic I used for teams calls). When connected directly to laptop, the built in camera and mic worked for my teams calls. Everything on the dock is working (monitor, mouse, keyboard, power), except my camera and microphone are no longer showing up. When on work calls, I can hear and see everyone, but I cannot select a camera or a mic to be seen or heard - and they are not even appearing to be selected. I am connecting to the monitor to the display link hub via DisplayPort Looking for any advice / tips how to get my camera and mic back! Thanks |

FYI, a good resource for determine the model number of your Apple monitor is here --> https://everymac.com/monitors/apple/ |
Dock: HP USB - C/A Universal Dock G2
P/N: 5TW13UT#ABA Monitor: https://everymac.com/monitors/apple/...nch-specs.html I am realizing this is a bit older of a monitor. Ideally I would still be able to use the camera / mic in the monitor itself, but if this is not supported with the doc, would the solution be to purchase an additional webcam and connect that to the dock? |

The mini-DisplayPort connector will only carry the video signal (I presume you are using a female mini-DP to male DP adapter to connect the cable to the dock). In order for the monitor's built-in camera and microphone to work, you also have to connect the USB 2.0 connector from the monitor cable to one of the USB ports within the dock. |
That worked! Thank you for your help.
