chromeos status?

I see an earlier (~2015) annoucement that all devices are supported on all chromebooks > r51.

I have just purchased an innoview folding 15.6" monitor. This functions by having the bottom half via USB-C altmode and the top half via displaylink over the same usb-c connector.

When I plug it into my chromebook, the lower monitor works. I see a notification about a new usb device, and have a choice of
a) open a usb mass storage on chromebook (there is a small storage w/ a windows+mac driver)
b) pass it through to linux
c) pass it through to android

but chromeos does not use it as a display.

I have tried this on chromeos r124 on 3 diff (pixelbook go, pixel slate, lenovo duet 2024) with the same effect.

This https://www.amazon.ca/InnoView-Exten...0CHYHY9TJ?th=1 device.

Is it still the case that displaylink is expected to work with chromeos?

'DisplayLink' or 'ChromeOS' are NOT mentioned anywhere in that product listing.

The driver installation video shown on the product page suggests that the monitor uses something called a 'Win USB Display' driver in order to function. This does not appear to be a DisplayLink driver, nor does the display appear to be a DisplayLink device.

As a result, DisplayLink will not be able to assist you.

Thank you.
The USB ID is 345f:9132, which I now see is a macrosilicon usb->vga.

Elsewhere online and in their literature they referred to DisplayLink, I see now they did so in a generic fashion.

Thank you for the response.
