Macbook pro only picking up one screen from dock

I recently got two monitors and an HP dock to be sure that I could utilise them for my MacBook, admittedly it is an Intel Iris Graphics but it seems that if my displays are plugged into the port I can only have a mirror of one of them whereas if I plug one into a thunderbolt port I can get separate screens. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Here is the dock:

My MacBook pro is the 2016 13" with 4 thunderbolt 3 ports.

For your reference, DisplayLink technology is a combination of hardware and software.

According to the information provided by HP for your HP docking station --> https://support.hp.com/us-en/product...17?sku=50H55AA the docking station you are using does NOT have DisplayLink hardware inside of it.

As a result, DisplayLink will not be able to assist you.

Your description of the behavior suggests that the HP dock has a DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (aka DP MST) hub inside of the unit. Macs do NOT support DP MST, which is why your displays are mirrored.

Thank you,

This helps a lot, on topic of this do you know of any recommended docks that would work with what I'm trying to do?

I got myself this one:

Looks well manufactured, has aluminum casing and is the same (very similar) color as the space-gray macbook pro.
Can report next week, how does it cope with 2 external monitors.
