Custom resolutions?

Hello, I have a macbook air m2, d6000 dock station. I own a 16' portabble monitor with 2560x1600 maximum res, but I can't choose 1920x1200 it is not available, the scaling on 2560x1600 is everything so small I can't see, in Windows i just do 25% scale and it's fine, but here what can I do?

Hi Freeq,

How do you connect 16' portable monitor to the dock?
Did you select "Show all resolutions" in the Displays system settings?
Did you try enabling "Additional HiDPI modes" option in DisplayLink Manager app settings tab?

Regards,
Szymon

Hey, i connect it with micro hdmi to HDMI, I have tried USB-C to Displayport, its the same.
I can display 2560x1600 which is highest resolution of this one but everything is so small its pretty much unusable for me, wanted to change it to 1920x1200, but it doesn't show that as available when i select all resolutions, i tried betterdisplay/switchresx but it doesn't allow to do most things in these programs with displaylink monitor.

Yes I have enabled Additional HiDPI modes.

How does it look at 1280x800 (200%)? Note that it could be a virtual mode, meaning the actual mode of the monitor is still 2560x1600 so the image should remain sharp.

It is sharp yeah but everything is now too big :P I hoped to be able to select 1920x1200, thats what I set if I don't use the dock when I am in travel straight connected to mac.
Could you make it possible for 16' monitors to be able to choose 1920x1200? As this is popular 16:10 resolution on both 15,3' and 16' portable monitors.

Thanks for the feedback and the request. Let me discuss this internally. Please note that, essentially the list of monitor modes available in the Settings is a combination of those explicitly exposed by the monitor itself and some heuristically added by the OS.

Szymon

Hi Freq,

Could you please test one more thing?

1. Ensure "Additional HiDPI modes" are enabled in the Settings tab of DisplayLink Manager App:

2. In the macOS Display Settings click Advanced and uncheck "Show resolutions as list":

3. Check if any of the offered scaling options gives better results than previously.

After consulting this case internally, I have a request to collect debug data and send us via support. Here is a link: https://support.displaylink.com/know...to-displaylink

I can't promise there will be a satisfying solution identified, but having details of the monitor will allow us at least to inspect it further.

Szymon
