Displaylink 14.0 No Monitor MacOSX 26 - EVEN WORSE WITH 14.1
Release notes for DisplayLink 14.0 say the "No Monitor" issue is fixed but its not.
I have 2x Dell U2414H monitors connected to a Dell Dock, one monitor works fine in HDMI even though DisplayLink does not pick it up. The other one is connected via DisplayPort and when the Mac Pro unlocks "No Monitor" comes up.. I have to turn the monitor off and on again to get it to work. When will this annoying issue be fixed? |
Hi jk1978,
I'm really sorry to hear the update didn't work for you. I'm told that if you experienced "No Monitor" problem, after the upgrade to 14.0 you need to power cycle the MONITOR, could you please unplug and replug monitor power cable and check one more time if it makes any difference? If the above doesn't help I have one more recommendation. Although, we don't have this particular Dell monitor model in our lab to test, I would still recommend updating monitor firmware following this link: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en...d=475g3&lwp=rt EDIT: I've just realised the link points to a firmware for a Dell U2424 so different year model of this monitor. So it doesn't mach your model :( Regards, Szymon |
can confirm i have the same issue with the following devices
One monitor is working and is also displayed as a Dell monitor in the DisplayLink software. The other screen is displayed as “No Monitor” and is not working or has the wrong resolution (less than HD, everything is very large and distorted). Sometimes the operating system displays a window asking whether you want to extend or mirror the “No Monitor” screen. Frequent switching off and on again works as a workaround so that the screen can be used again with the correct resolution. |
Hi freshcuruba,
Thank you for sharing the details of your setup. I found we should have a pair of such monitors in our lab, so we will definitely test this. For the analysis I would value if you shared more debug data. You can follow an instruction here -> How to report macOS issues to DisplayLink to collect and send them to us. Please make sure to describe in your report usual scenario after which the problem occurs and reference VIFR-6890 so we can connect your report for this thread. Thank you and best regards Szymon |
Can also confirm. I am running 3 Asus Monitors, 2 thru the SVIDEO and 1 thru DP. The DP monitor intermittently works. Power cycled the DP monitor, nothing. Power cycled the Anker and problem solved. DP was showing connectivity to the device with data, just no display, monitor showed no connection. Hope that helps. Monitors fully updated. This device will be great once we can get these small bugs worked out! Thanks for the support!

No Monitor with new update
I also am experiencing this issue. I have the following setup:
DisplayLink App shows only "No Monitor" and the other Planar but not my Macbook display. In Mac Display settings only 1 Planar and Mac display shown. I've tried power cycling "No Monitor" display several times to now avail. |
Thought I'd live with it for a bit and then give you feedback.
14.0 seems "better". Previously I had to power cycle (unplug cable and plug it back in) the monitor everytime I logged onto the macbook. Now I'd say half the time, 50%, No Monitor appears. I can press the monitors "soft off" button... wait for the No Monitor message to disappear and then turn the screen back on successfully. Quote:

Hi jk1978,
Oh no! I expected 14.1 would make a positive difference for you. What do you mean it is worse, ie. what exactly has happened after upgrading to 14.1? Regards, Szymon |
