MacBook Air M2 2023 / Display Link Manager

Hey folks,

Bit of a noob here looking for some advice.

I have a MacBook Air M2 2023 and I’m fully aware that I can only support one additional display however using this software along with a piece of hardware there is a Work around

This is the current stage that I am at:

I have my MacBook screen (obviously) and then my two other screens which both display a small computer icon and the para that says choose or extend to mirror from < Display Link Manager>.

I can get it to recognise one of the additional displays, and the other for that fact, but they just mimic each other, they do not extend as I wish them to.

Can somebody please help me? I’ve burnt out websites looking at them trying to find a solution and didn’t think to use the forum here.

Thanks, folks
Graeme

Can you please provide the brand and specific model number of (or a direct web link to) the hardware you are using?

This is probably the best I can do:

For your reference, DisplayLink technology is a combination of hardware and software. If the product you are using does not have DisplayLink hardware inside of it, then the DisplayLink software will not work.

According to the information provided in the Amazon listing for the product you are using, the product does NOT have DisplayLink hardware inside of it. As a result, the DisplayLink software will not work.

The information in the product listing suggests that the product you are using has a DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (DP MST) hub inside of it. Mac computers do NOT support DP MST hubs, which is why your displays are mirrored. The third gallery image in the product listing shows the same behavior when using a Mac.

If you want to add more than one external display to your Mac, then you will need to use an alternative product based on DisplayLink technology. DisplayLink has a list of products available here --> https://www.synaptics.com/products/d...ylink-products

If you were to use a different product that had DisplayLink hardware inside of it, then yes, it should work in conjunction with the DisplayLink software.

This time I purchased: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09K79LX...fed_asin_title

It looked compatible with DisplayLink.

However, once installed and all driver the best I can get is the screens to show:

Universal Graphic Adapter...

Then they go black again. The DL item in the icon bar is useless,

I don know what I am doing wrong,

PLEASE don't tell me its a hardware issue AGAIN

The product you purchased does NOT have DisplayLink technology inside of it, so DisplayLink software will not recognize it.

According to the information provided by the manufacturer --> https://www.wavlink.com/en_us/product/WL-UG7602HC.html and the product photos in the Amazon listing the product is based on SiliconMotion USB video technology.

You will need to install a SiliconMotion USB driver in order for that adapter to work, and the driver can be downloaded from the aforementioned web link.
