Mouse cursor disappears with Tahoe on second user
I’ve recently updated my MacBook Pro M1 to macOS Tahoe. After that on my main user account, everything works with display link. I could use my external display as normal.
My daughter has a separate user account. After she logged in, I needed to start the display link manager, as it was not running apparently on her user account. After starting it, the external display appeared, but then the mouse cursor was kind of frozen. But the mouse actually worked. So I could see it when hovering the mouse over the dock that the icons just moved as normal but without displaying the mouse cursor. From time to time, the cursor was shown but then was stuck again. CPU was on a very low one figure percentage. I disconnected the screen, but it still was lagging then I switched back to my user and it worked perfectly. Switched back to her user it was not updating the mouse cursor. I had DisplayLink 12.x I believe so I updated to the latest 15.x but still not difference. Any help or ideas? Thank! |
Ok, it got worse.
Now, both use accounts are affected, and also DisplayLink Manager shows 40-40% CPU usage. I've restarted and logging in only to use user. Then it works again (as in the mouse cursor is properly updated). The CPU usage of DLM is still quite high. When idling its about 7-10%, when doing something, like moving a window it goes up to 40%CPU. |
Hello Nifty,
I did a quick test and I wasn't able to reproduce it locally. Would share more details?
Also make sure "Automatic app startup" option is enabled in the Settings tab of DisplayLink Manager when logged in to your daughter's account. Regards, Szymon |
