[Feedback] Please Add Automatic Updates to DisplayLink Manager for macOS
I use DisplayLink Manager on my personal MacBook, and while running an older version of the software, I experienced significant performance issues, including unusually high CPU usage.
DisplayLink Manager did not notify me that a newer version was available, and there does not appear to be an option to enable automatic updates. I only discovered that my installation was outdated while troubleshooting the issue with Claude. After manually updating to version 16.1, the high CPU usage problem was resolved. It is frustrating that software as important as DisplayLink Manager requires users to regularly visit the DisplayLink website and manually check for new releases. Many users may not realize that performance or compatibility problems are caused by an outdated version. Please consider adding automatic updates when a new version is available to DisplayLink Manager for macOS. This would make the software more reliable and help users avoid preventable performance issues. |
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback and useful suggestion. The feature is currently in development and will be added in one of the next releases. Regards, Szymon |
