Second HDMI display detected by macOS but receives no signal — ORICO DPL12
Hello DisplayLink Support,
I need help with a dual-monitor issue on macOS. Both external monitors are connected to my ORICO DPL12 docking station, using one monitor on each HDMI output. macOS and DisplayLink Manager detect both LG monitors, but only one monitor actually displays an image. The second monitor remains off or in standby because it receives no HDMI signal, even though macOS reports it as online. This setup previously worked correctly, with both external monitors displaying an extended desktop. System configuration: Mac: MacBook Pro Model Identifier: Mac14,7 Processor: Apple M2, 8-core CPU GPU: Apple M2, 10-core GPU Memory: 16 GB macOS: 26.6.2, build 25G83 DisplayLink Manager: 16.2.39 Architecture: Apple Silicon / ARM64 Docking station: Product: ORICO 12-in-1 Docking Station Model: DPL12 / ORICO-DPL12 Manufacturer: ORICO Technologies Co., Ltd. Product page: https://orico.cc/index/product/detail/3430.html Connection to Mac: USB-C Video connection: one monitor connected to each HDMI output Dock identification reported by macOS: USB product name: Subosen_3900_Docking USB manufacturer: DisplayLink USB Vendor ID: 0x17e9 USB Product ID: 0x4307 USB link speed: 5 Gbps Displays: Two LG FULL HD monitors Product identification reported by macOS: GSM5B55 Resolution: 1920 × 1080 Refresh rate: 60 Hz Display mode: extended desktop Mirroring: disabled What macOS and DisplayLink Manager report: Built-in MacBook display: online First LG FULL HD display: online Second LG FULL HD display: online DisplayLink Manager shows both external displays as enabled However, this logical detection does not match the physical result: First LG monitor: working and displaying an image Second LG monitor: receives no HDMI signal and remains off or in standby The DisplayLink Support Tool archive was generated while both HDMI cables were connected and while the second monitor was receiving no signal. Therefore, the archive represents the faulty state, even though its display report lists both external monitors as online. Could you please advise: Why can macOS and DisplayLink Manager report both displays as online while one physical HDMI output provides no signal? Is this a known issue with DisplayLink Manager 16.2.39 and macOS 26.6.2? Is there another DisplayLink Manager version or beta build that I should test? Are there any additional logs or tests that would help determine whether this is a DisplayLink software issue or a problem with one of the dock’s HDMI outputs? I have the complete DisplayLink Support Tool ZIP generated while the problem was present and can attach it or provide it through a private or secure channel. Thank you for your help. |
Hello,
Thank you for your contact. Did you check using monitor's OSD menu whether video input is set to HDMI? Does swapping display 1 & 2 makes any difference? Regards, Szymon |
