I tried that and still do not see any drivers loaded via sysinternals autoruns or devmgr.msc.
In step #1 above, do you have any displaylink drivers under C:\Windows\System32\Drivers ?

WIndows 8.1 device not detected

Do you happen to have those drivers/inf files ?
I do not have a working device and since I upgraded to Windows 8.1 the device is not detected. I have tried everything.
