It looks like the USB 3.0 host controller driver did the trick!
So far, no display switching.

I've got a Fujitsu AH552 laptop, and a Fujitsu PR07 port replicator.
The port replicator is directly connected to the laptop.
A couple of times every day the display that is connected to the port...
