I see from looking closer at the manual that 4K output is only supported via the Display Port.
Too bad the shorter version of the specs I read before purchasing it only...

I have a D3100. I'm running Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 (and also Ubuntu Unity) with the latest DisplayLink driver (thanks for that!).

Another issue
... With the new driver released today, it was working pretty well, until I rebooted.
Now when I plug in the dock and monitor, the monitor is not recognized so I end up with a 1024x768 mode on it,...

Scaling?
I found the new version of the driver is available today.
I installed it and it (on 16.04 Ubuntu Gnome) and it seems to work! Thanks!
There are a couple small glitches, like the mouse pointer...
