I ran the command as root, i.e. no sudo needed. Look at the prompt!
(Yes, I'm lazy. I often to
sudo bash/csh/ash/tcsh/whatever-shell
to become root for a while. Then I don't have to do...

Build hangs on Ubuntu 18.10
(Yes, I did search the forum before asking. :) )
The build hangs when installing DisplayLink on my Ubuntu 18.10. This is what it looks like:
root@min1:tmp> ./displaylink-driver-5.1.26.run ...
