Just want to note that it turns out a reboot/DLM restart was needed... @sabaatworld also reached out to me and reported the problem resolved after a restart. Sorry for the apparently false alarm...

I'll have the relevant setting disabled in the next app version by default so BetterDisplay does not interfere.
