Same trouble
I installed Mavericks on my Mid2011 Mac mini.
And installed Ver. 2.1 driver makes me trouble that are as same as toddbanister.
I use 2 adapter of GX-DVI/U2 and GX-DVI/U2B (Buffalo, Japan).
