I believe the chipset is too new and hasn't been implemented in Dec. 2017 drivers. It supports 4K and uses a more efficient compression.

The alternative would be the previous model: HP Elite...

Yes, the HDCP problem has never been solved. No iTunes or Netflix videos (in Safari) work, and afaik DisplayLink said Apple is to blame.

But what other options are there if you're on a MacBook...

I hope you're right. But I also think that Apple needs to cooperate. If both parties can't negotiate a solution, our dock stations become useless bricks as soon as we update to 10.13.4. :(

Dear DisplayLink developers, if you have to rewrite the drivers anyway for the the 13.4 update, would it be possible to enable HDCP support, so that we can eventually watch iTunes movies on...
