http://theclonker.de/archive/89 (in my case I changed the origin of packages to wily, since I use 15.10)...

never mind, there was no other solution for me...
never mind, there was no other solution for me than to remove Intel drivers and then displaylink would install
however this was a bit of a bummer -- intel drivers did provide a bit of enhancement...
