Firmware Upgrade FTW!

I'm also using the Dell D6000 and indeed the firmware upgrade did the trick! Works like a charm now, with the new beta driver without kernel extension.

I'm having the same issue also with a MacBook Pro 15" 2018. When I just plug in the cable from my dock I get a flickering screen. Sometimes I can manage to make it work by restarting when the cable...
