Could you attach logs please? The observed behaviour was fixed by Microsoft in RTM build of Win8 (build 9200), are you sure the Windows build you use is RTM, not Release Candidate or Release Preview?...

This sounds like a hardware problem, e.g. with overheating the machine, or the system drawing more power than the power supply is capable of providing. So it seems it has little to do with software.
