When using the iPad 2 as an additional monitor, ClearType appears to fail (text looks shabby). If I hold the screen upside-down, the screen orientation flips and CT suddenly appears crispy and good. However, the snazzy magnetic cover enforces which way up the iPad 2 will be when used in an upright position.
The Windows 7 ClearType configuration utility cannot be used to fix the issue although in principle it should (you can configure monitors separately). I don't know if this is a bug in your driver or in Windows, but clicking 'finish' at the end of the wizard doesn't change cleartype.
