Hi

The product you have is an HP dock. This was one of the first HP docks produced and is based on the DL-160. The DL-160 has a maximum resolution of 1680x1050, which is why this is the maximum resolution you have seen, and will be offered if we cannot read the modes from the monitor.

The monitor reports:

Display Modes
=============
640x480x24@60
640x480x24@75
720x400x24@70
800x600x24@60
800x600x24@75
1024x768x24@60
1024x768x24@75
1152x864x24@75
1280x1024x24@60
1280x1024x24@75
1920x1080x24@60

As 1920x1080 is not supported, the next highest mode is 1280x1024, which is what you see offered.

Hopefully this explains the behaviour you are seeing.
