Hello, update for Windows 7 users. I've asked we re-sign the 7.9 M5 like we did until 7.9 M3.
This means it should work again on outdated Windows 7 installations, provided you could validate DisplayLink certificate before!
This means that if you update to Windows 10, you MUST make sure your Windows 10 install is fully up-to-date (TH2 / Build 1511 or later) before you install DisplayLink drivers.
Otherwise you'll get to the Windows recovery console because the Windows 10 RTM (TH1) has a bug which cannot validate signature date. You generally don't see that with other drivers because, unlike DisplayLink, they are not loaded during boot.
But let me stress it again, DisplayLink drivers have always been signed properly as they wouldn't have been accepted by Microsoft otherwise.
