Hello,
I'm delighted to be able to distribute the 9.0 alpha driver for Windows:
DisplayLink software release 9.0 will deliver the following:
- DL-69xx: Windows 10 alternate encoder with Intel 4th Generation GPU and newer for CPU usage reduction
- DL-3xxx, DL-5xxx: night mode/f.lux/gamma LUT for monitor calibration on HDMI and DisplayPort ASIC output on Windows 10
- DL-6xxx: night mode/f.lux/gamma LUT for monitor calibration on DisplayPort output on Windows 10
- Bug fixes
Details on the "alternative encoder"
This feature is used to offload encoding from the CPU, and when released, will give at least the same performance as what is available in production today.
That feature is now enabled by default on supported configurations.
Current requirements of the alternative encoder
- Windows 10 Anniversary Update onwards
- USB adapter or docking station using the DisplayLink DL-6950 ASIC
- Intel GPU 4th generation and newer
Any other display connected through DisplayLink technology will still use be rendered the same way as before (DL-1x5, DL-3xxx, DL-4xxxx, DL-5xxx).
How to give feedback
For this to be manageable,
please create a new thread with each piece of feedback you have.
Any type of feedback is useful to us, not only linked to the alternative encoder which is only developed here because it is new! For instance, we have corrected bugs in the Ethernet link negotiation area and feedback on behaviour there is encouraged.
