You may have to uninstall multiple times. I had a lot of issues with a dock reinstall. I thought I had uninstalled all the old drivers, but fragments still remained and it kept reinstalling the bad driver. They provided these instructions

The two keys are to disconnect your internet connection (wired and airplane mode) and keep doing the uninstall device driver process from the device manager until the driver says "Microsoft Basic Display adapter". then you can reinstall the old drivers.
In my case, I also had to block windows from updating drivers automatically otherwise it kept forcing the same driver. I used group policy to do so on my Pro copy, there's other ways to do it though.
